Art Galleries
The work of some of New Mexico’s most gifted artists adorn the halls and walls of the State Fair’s art galleries. Sales of artwork from these galleries totaled $350,000 in 2007.
The Native American Indian Arts Gallery opened in 1954, and has featured the finest Native American artwork in the country, including native pottery, paintings, jewelry and rugs.
The Hispanic Arts Center opened in 1993, and features the work of Hispanic artists exclusively. Tinwork, retablos, bultos, paintings, sculptures and furniture are just some examples of the artwork displayed here.
The Fine Arts Gallery, built in 1954, plays host to world-class masterworks representing a broad array of styles, disciplines and media.
The School Arts Building features works of art created by New Mexico's youth, some of whom make up the next generation of artists whose work will one day hang in the other galleries on the the grounds.
